WHAT IS AB60
AB 60 (California Assembly Bill 60) will allow Driver’s Licenses to Undocumented Workers. However traffic offenses may disqualify some to apply for a driver’s license. Commencing on January of 2015 the Department of Motor Vehicles will start accepting applications for driver’s licenses.
The following offenses may disqualify applicants:
- To drive a commercial vehicle under the influence of alcohol. This includes driving a commercial motor vehicle while the concentration of alcohol in the person is 0.08% or more;
- To drive a commercial motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, such as amphetamines, a narcotic drug, or a derivative of a drug;
- To transport, possess or the illegal use of a controlled substance, amphetamine, narcotic drug, amphetamine formulations, or derivatives of drugs, while the driver is on duty;
- To leave the scene of an accident while driving a commercial motor vehicle;
- To commit a crime that involves the use of a commercial vehicle.
These crimes and other offenses could impede you to qualify to obtain a driver’s license.
